• Sibshops may provide brothers and sisters of children with special needs an opportunity to meet other siblings in a relaxed setting
• Sibshops may provide brothers and sisters with opportunities to discuss common concerns with other siblings of children with special needs
• Sibshops may provide siblings with the opportunity to learn how others handle situations commonly experienced by siblings of children with special needs
• Sibshops will provide opportunities to ask questions about the implications of their siblings disability or special needs
• Sibshops will provide a safe environment where all voices are heard, where fun and creative times can be shared.
Siblings will help determine planning and structure of the class.

“As the brother of a young woman with a disability, I grew up feeling like I always had to wait. Sometimes, I felt like it wasn’t fair to me, because my sister was sick and had seizures. I was the one who stayed at Grandma and Papa’s cause Mom was at the hospital with Nina again. I felt guilty because I was mad or sad and my sister was the one in the hospital, then I felt confused…”
